BasicsWhat is a Demat account?
Read
A Demat account holds your shares, ETFs, bonds and mutual fund units in electronic form, the way a bank account holds money. It is kept with a depository through a participant like us. When you buy shares they are credited to it, and when you sell they are debited from it.
BasicsDelivery vs intraday
Read
In a delivery trade you take the shares into your Demat account and can hold them as long as you like. In an intraday trade you buy and sell on the same day, so no shares are delivered. Intraday needs less money up front because of margin, but losses can grow just as quickly.
ChargesWhat is STT?
Read
Securities Transaction Tax is charged by the government on trades on a recognised exchange. The rate depends on the segment — for example 0.1% on both sides for delivery and 0.025% on the sell side for intraday. It is the same at every broker; our Pricing page lists each rate.
ChargesWhat is a DP charge?
Read
When shares leave your Demat account after a sale, the depository and your depository participant charge a fee. At Tradflow it is ₹13 + GST per scrip per day, whatever the quantity. Selling 10 or 1,000 shares of one company on the same day costs the same.
DerivativesFutures vs options
Read
A future is an agreement to buy or sell at a set price on a future date — both sides must honour it, and gains and losses move with the price. An option gives the buyer the right, but not the duty, to buy or sell, for a premium. Option buyers can lose at most the premium; option sellers can lose much more.
DerivativesWhat is margin?
Read
Margin is the money blocked in your account to take a position bigger than your cash. The exchange sets F&O margins every day, and intraday equity needs at least 20% of the trade value. Leverage magnifies gains and losses alike — size your trades with care.
InvestingWhat is an expense ratio?
Read
The expense ratio is the yearly fee a mutual fund charges to run your money, shown as a percentage of your investment. It is taken out of the fund's value daily, so you never see a bill. Direct plans have lower expense ratios than regular plans because no distributor commission is paid.
InvestingMaximizing returns with dividend yield
Read
Dividend yield is the yearly dividend per share divided by the share price. It shows how much cash a stock pays you for every rupee invested. A very high yield can be a warning sign — check whether the company can keep paying before you rely on it.
CommoditiesVisualizing the gold-to-oil ratio
Read
The gold-to-oil ratio is the price of an ounce of gold divided by the price of a barrel of crude. A rising ratio means gold is getting dearer relative to oil, which often happens when markets are nervous. Traders watch it as one gauge of risk mood, not as a trading signal on its own.
SafetyKeep your account safe
Read
Never share your password, PIN or OTP — nobody from Tradflow will ask for them. Keep your mobile and email updated so the exchange can alert you about every trade. If something looks wrong, call us at once and change your password.
BasicsApplying for an IPO with UPI
Read
Choose the IPO, enter your bid and your UPI ID, and approve the mandate in your UPI app. The money stays in your bank account, only blocked, until shares are allotted. If you don't get an allotment, the block is released.
